French Revolution Impact on Equality and Liberty!!

The French Revolution started for a variety of reasons. One of these reasons was due to the lack of food such as bread and the prices skyrocketing due to a lack of funds. Money was spent from helping the Americans in the American Revolution and the excessive spending of money  from Louis XVI also angered the people.

There was also a disconnection between the nobles and the common people, due to the hierarchy between them. When the people were starving due to a famine,Louis XVI's wife, Marie Antoinette, is believed to have said"Let them eat cake." Though there is no evidence of her actually saying this, the statement emphasizes the inability  of the nobles to understand the misfortunes of the poor. Similarly, the 'Book of Jin' a chronicle  of the Jin Dynasty in China from the 7th century reports that Emperor Hui of Western Jin replied  with"Why don't they eat porridge with ground meat?" When he was told his people were starving.

The French people also wanted equal rights for all, and did not like the monarchy. The monarchy was eventually abolished, with Louis XVI being executed by the guillotine. Marie Antoinette was also executed, and it is said that her hair became white ovemight due to the  stress she faced before her execution. Her son,Louis XVIl,was jailed and eventually died of   tuberculosis. Her daughter was one of the few royal children to survive the French Revolution, and she became the Duchess of Angouleme. She was a supporter of the monarchy, and her  death was near Vienna.

The difference between the rich and the poor created tension, which was increased even further by the inability of the classes to see each other's perspective. The French Revolution helped demolish the monarchy which in turn helped create a place where everyone was equal. And the French Constitution of 1791, which was the first constitution of France, guaranteed everyone equality and liberty.
